Rev. Terry Valentino Williams, Sr., B.S. MA, Div.

Terry V. Williams, Sr., a long-time dedicated servant of Christ, exemplified his devotion in the African Methodist Episcopal Church, to which he shows total commitment, responsibility, accountability, trust, and love.

A native of Cleveland, Ohio, and I attended public schools and graduated from Glenville High School in 1977. Upon graduation from high school, I enlisted in the United States Coast Guard. After 20 years and 8 months of service— in 1998, I was honorably discharged. While in the military, I received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from Strayer University in Washington, D.C. December of 1998. Later, I received my Master of Divinity from Payne Theological Seminary in Wilberforce, Ohio, in 2018.

Rev. Williams accepted Christ in 1981 in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, where God used me as a military missionary. After leaving N. C. I joined the Christian Men’s Military Fellowship in San Diego, CA. I assisted the Chaplains in the endeavor of helping military families and spreading the gospel, leading Bible study, film, and street ministry of Jesus Christ until retiring from the Coast Guard.

I (Rev. Terry Williams) answered his calling to the ministry under presiding elder Rev. Dr. Floyd W. Alexander and former pastor at Greater Avery A.M.E. Church. Bishop McKinley Young ordained me a Local Deacon in 2014 and an Itinerant Elder in 2018. I was appointed to Christ Our Redeemer as a Local Elder to hold down the church until sold from 2014 until 2017, establishing a Music Ministry and making sure the doors were kept open. During the 2016 mid-year, I was sent back to Greater Avery A.M.E. Church, to fill in for my former pastor, Rev. James E. Murry after he suffered a stroke. I pastored there until 2021. I received a certificate of transfer from Bishop E. Earl McCloud in 10/21/2021 from the 3rd Episcopal District.

In 2022, my wife and I relocated to Seffner Fl and started worshiping with the Unity A.M.E. Church under pastor Rev. Patricia A. Mosley.

The center of Rev. Williams’ life is his family: my wife Diane, 4 adult children, and eight grandchildren.
